Mike Malone & Company has been here the past few days. They've been working on a publication project for Saint Mary's and Mike has been bouncing around a number of our art and design classes shooting the artists at work. I've enjoyed just watching the past few days. I wish I had the opportunity to simply watch professional photographers work through their workflow more often.

Today I asked Mike about how he works Lightroom into his workflow and he was kind enough to share. We began talking about applications, plug-ins, and blogs. At one point he mentioned how the communication among photographers has improved over the past 20 years (through blogs and the internet, etc.).

It's comments like that that remind me how important this blog is to me. I've taken one film photography class here at SMU; everything digital I've done beyond that point has been self-taught. If it weren't for all the blogs, forums, articles, and tutorials, I would be nowhere near the point in my photographic and design experience that I am now. I'm incredibly thankful for all the comments you all leave on here (positive, and especially critical ones); they all help me through this progress of photographic development. It only seems natural to offer my thanks.
