One of the things that I heard a few times from some of the photographers I asked to give me feedback was the notion of developing my own style. This topic is something I've wrestled with a bit over the last couple semesters. So, as I've been doing so, I've had to force myself to accept my current limit: that I am a student. And, as a student, I don't think it'd be wise to limit or force myself to develop a particular style without trying out different approaches.

So here we go. For this photo I've forced myself out of my comfort zone quite a bit. It's not dynamic at all: there's no movement, which I usually feel drawn to in many of my shots;it's simple. As far as processing is concerned, I went B&W and tinkered with the Add Noise filter a little bit. Add a sepia tone, some curves adjustment layers, and some cropping and voila - here it is. An attempt at something different.

My hope is that my style will develop. Who knows, perhaps it'll never stop developing; and, perhaps it's best not to limit its deveopment.

So, as always, what do you think? About the shot or about my struggle to come to terms with this idea of a "style," please, share your thoughts.
