Sorry about the Lost reference, but I couldn't resist. Unfortunately, I'll have to miss the next episode tomorrow; photographer Jim Brandenburg is giving a talk at Winona State University and I'm skipping Lost and the Josh Gracin concert to go to it. Pretty excited.
As for this photo, I'd like to introduce you all to my lovely girlfriend Megan. This was a candid, shoot-from-the-hip sort of shot I took while we were traveling from Cork to Dublin last May. Though the shot is almost a year ago, the processing was done quite recently. If it isn't obvious, processing was pretty heavy in this case. I shaded the area around her eyes, softened her skin, enhanced the tones in her cheeks and lips, and did a few different things to the background. What do you think?
Speaking of your opinion, please share. It's always encouraging to hear that somebody likes my work (I can be kind of a self-esteem whore that way sometimes), but I'd also love to hear it when someone thinks my work stinks. So, by all means, if you think any of my posts are weak or miss the point in any way, please, be my guest and let me have it. I've always thought that criticism should be interpreted as constructive no matter the light it's presented in. So, I'll thank you in advance for sharing your opinons.
As for the shots I captured yesterday, I did find that cord! I'm still processing, however. Hopefully we'll get to those tomorrow. As for now, Megan really is a pretty girl, isn't she?
